Imali Chutney

Tamarind Chutney  is also known as Imli chutney (Imli is the Hindi word for tamarind). Tamarind chutney is a spiced, sweet and t angy sauce served with Indian chaat snacks or fried snacks like samosa, kachori or pakoda.

This is a family recipe of Tamarind chutney which is so good and finger-licking tasty. We also call t his chutney as saunth chutney or sonth chutney as this chutney is spiced with ground ginger powder.

Coconut Chutney

Coconut  chutney is a popular South Indian condiment or side dish, consisting of a coconut stew that is combined with shallots, tamarind, ginger, chiles, and curr y leaves. It is a specialt y of the North Malabar region, The liquid version is usually served with idlis and dosas, while the dry version, also known as ur ut tu chammanthi, is commonly served with rice, either for lunch or dinner. It is said that the best coconut chutney is made with ammikal, or mortar and pestle, when the chutney is grinded by hand,  it results in a far superior flavour than the ones made with a blender or a food processor.
